Fine-Tuned Processes
Wet Sanding:
Wet Sanding is a process performed after the exterior is fully decontaminated and before paint polishing. There are several steps needed to determine the wet sanding process. The quality of the paintwork, thickness of the paint, and level of quality you want to achieve all are major factors when considering a wet sanding service.
Wet Sanding is intended for:
-
Restored vehicle, full-body repainted, needing texture reduction, in search of perfection
-
Deeply damaged paint

What's the difference between the two detailing packages? The Balance Detail: This package is a quicker auto detail service that focuses on cleaning rather than exterior protection. This package is also a great maintenance detail if your vehicle is frequently detailed. The Decon-Recon Detail: This package follows a more in-depth exterior process to prepare for protection. The exterior will be fully decontaminated chemically and mechanically to prepare for a one-step gloss enhancement polish.

What is chemical and mechanical decontamination (Decon)?Paint Decontamination: This is the process of removing the embedded surface contaminates that a typical wash won't remove. These contaminants are airborne compounds, brake dust, rail dust, ferrous (iron-containing) particles, paint overspray, or anything that is bonded to your painted surface. (Iron Remover) Even a brand-new vehicle will have some degree of bonded contamination. This process is a crucial part of ensuring your painted surfaces are free of any contamination before applying protection. (Clay Bar) A clay bar is used to remove contaminates that are not removed during the wash process. After the clay bar treatment, your paint will be ultra-smooth and prepared for protection.
-
How do I know if I need a full paint decontamination?Lightly rub your hand across your paint, if it feels like sandpaper or if it's not smooth then your paint needs to be decontaminated. If your vehicle is not garage-kept, I highly recommend "The Decon-Recon Detail" for your yearly maintenance package.
