The goal when wet sanding is to level or flatten the clear to create a higher level of depth, clarity, and gloss to maximize D.O.I. Paint texture and other above-and below-surface flaws must be absent from the paint for it to have these qualities. When referring to paint as "flat," this means the paint's surface is perfectly flat, like a piece of glass. Distinction of Images, or D.O.I., is the ability of a finish to reflect clear, sharp images like a mirror without distortion.

Advanced Paint Correction is a process that is dependent on the wet sanding process being performed to ensure sanding marks are removed. A multi-step rotary and dual-action paint correction is performed to finish the paint down to showroom quality.

Step 1: Cutting

A rotary polisher, wool pads, and heavy-cutting compound are used to remove the majority of the sanding marks. This allows for increased control, the ability to keep heat down, and a better finish.

Step 2: Refinement

A dual-action polisher, microfiber cutting pads, and a less aggressive cutting compound are used to refine the holograms from the initial cut.

Step 3: Final Polish

A dual-action polisher, soft foam polishing pads, and a polish are used as a last step polish to jewel the paint finish.
